The problem

Depleted soils, residues that never return to the cycle.

Spanish olive groves generate millions of tonnes of olive pomace every year, while the sector’s own soils lose structure, microbial life and water-holding capacity. Two separate problems that can be solved at once.

01 · OLIVE GROVE
Soils losing organic matter
Decades of intensive management degrade soil structure, reduce biological activity and lower the efficiency of applied fertilizer.
at once
02 · OLIVE MILL
By-products with no useful destination
Olive pomace, the residue from oil extraction, is hard to manage. Accumulation, disposal costs and a latent agronomic value left untapped.
result
03 · BROKEN CYCLE
Dependence on external fertilizers
A sector with available organic matter that imports synthetic fertilizers from external sources. The residue never closes the cycle where it was produced.
The olive grove already holds, in its own residue, the agronomic input it needs. BioFulviK+ closes that cycle.

How it works

Four modes of action in soil and plant.

Fulvic acids are short-chain organic molecules with a strong ability to chelate nutrients and stimulate biological processes. Combined with the natural supply of potassium and iron, they deliver a multi-variable effect.

Improved soil structure

Fulvics act as a natural binder between mineral particles and organic matter. They improve porosity, aeration and water-holding capacity.

Nutrient chelation

Fulvic acids form complexes with micronutrients, keeping them soluble and available to the root. They improve the efficiency of applied fertilizer.

Root stimulation

They boost root development and activity, especially in early crop stages. Greater absorption surface and higher resistance to stress.

Activation of microbial life

It supplies organic substrate to the soil microflora, favouring beneficial populations and the gradual mineralization of nutrients.

Induced defense · SAR pathway

A plant better equipped to defend itself.

Beyond nutrition, the olive-derived polyphenols in BioFulviK+ induce Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR): the plant activates its own defenses. Potassium and boron also reinforce the cell wall. Preventive action observed in trials against:

Powdery mildew
Botrytis
Downy mildew
Fusarium
Nematodes
Aphid

Preventive action. Does not replace registered curative treatments.

Where to apply it

What happens when the soil is under control.

Real data, on real plantations, with agronomic monitoring. Three different crop profiles. One single principle: put the soil in condition to perform.

Comparison baseline: the 8.6 ha treated with BioFulviK+ versus the remaining 72 ha of the same farm, same type of rainfed olive grove and same standard agronomic management. Same soil, same climate, same season.
Agronomic reading of the case
Under rainfed conditions, the limiting factor is usually the soil’s ability to retain water and make nutrients available at the critical moments of the cycle. BioFulviK+ does not compete with irrigation: it acts on the fraction of the soil that does depend on management. The result is yield and oil content, not just biomass.

Comparison baseline: the 4.93 ha treated with BioFulviK+ versus the remaining 14.07 ha of the same farm, also super-high-density olive grove and with the same agronomic management. Same planting layout, same variety, same season.
Agronomic reading of the case
In super-high-density systems, BioFulviK+ is not only a biostimulant: it also supplies the nutrients the olive tree needs within the fertigation cycle. Bioavailable fulvic acids, potassium and iron enter through the same irrigation network where the nutrition plan already flows. The grower improves yield without adding extra operations to their routine.

Recommended dose: application every 30 days via fertigation. Improves structure, water retention and nutrient availability.
Agronomic reading of the case
BioFulviK+ does not just add nutrients: it activates those already in the soil. The doubling of the bioavailable fraction explains the agronomic response observed in crops with imbalanced soils. The product works at the root of the problem, not the symptom.
On interpreting the data: the magnitude and speed of response depend on the crop, starting soil, dose and application plan. For a protocol specific to your crop, contact our technical team.

Frequently asked questions

What the agronomist, the grower and the distributor need to know.

Clear answers to the most common technical and commercial questions about BioFulviK+. If your question isn’t here, get in touch.

BioFulviK+ is a liquid agricultural biostimulant made of 20% fulvic acids, 100% plant-based, with bioavailable potassium and iron. It is produced from olive-grove pomace using proprietary technology at the Smallops plant in Valdetorres (Badajoz).

It is indicated to improve soil structure, chelate nutrients, stimulate root development and activate microbial life. Suitable for olive groves, fruit trees, vineyards, almond and horticultural crops.

Fulvic acids are low-molecular-weight, short-chain humic substances present in soil organic matter. Their agronomic importance comes from four main functions:

  • They form complexes (chelate) micronutrients such as Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, keeping them soluble and available to the root.
  • They improve the soil’s physical structure and its water-holding capacity.
  • They stimulate root growth and activity.
  • They provide substrate for the soil’s beneficial microflora.

Their small molecular size lets them cross plant membranes easily, which translates into a faster response than other humic products.

BioFulviK+ is standardized to 20% fulvic acids on dry extract, with a natural presence of bioavailable potassium and iron. Product pH in the 7–8 range. No synthetic additives.

Every batch ships with its composition analysis. Traceability is complete, from the source olive pomace to the final container.

BioFulviK+ is non-toxic, non-corrosive, non-flammable and does not cause skin irritation. It is 100% plant-based and contains no synthetic additives.

As a product derived from the sector’s own agricultural residue (olive pomace), returning it to the soil closes an organic cycle the sector was already generating.

BioFulviK+ is obtained from olive-grove pomace using proprietary technology, developed and operated entirely at our production centre in Valdetorres (Badajoz), under trade secret.

The process is optimized to extract the fulvic acids while preserving their molecular structure and to release potassium and iron in bioavailable form, with controlled composition and batch-to-batch traceability.

The olive pomace comes from local olive mills and olive by-products, with characterization and origin control on intake.

Smallops’ laboratory and production plant are located in Valdetorres, Badajoz (Spain). Production is 100% domestic and under trade secret.

Every batch of BioFulviK+ undergoes batch-to-batch composition analysis. Traceability covers the whole chain: source olive pomace → characterization → production process → concentration and formulation → packaging.

The distributor or end customer can request the analysis corresponding to their batch.

BioFulviK+ is formulated for all types of crops. The most documented are:

  • Olive groves: traditional, intensive and super-high-density.
  • Woody fruit crops: almond, citrus, stone and pome fruit.
  • Vineyard.
  • Horticultural crops: tomato, pepper, cucurbits and other intensive vegetables.

It is compatible with all irrigation systems and conventional applications: fertigation, foliar and soil application.

The dose depends on the crop, the starting soil and the application route. For reference, the protocols documented with real clients:

  • Rainfed olive grove (foliar): 5 L/month/ha between April and October.
  • Super-high-density olive grove (fertigation): 15 L/ha/month throughout the crop cycle.
  • Nursery and transplants (fertigation): application every 30 days.

For your specific crop, we recommend contacting the Smallops technical team to define a tailored protocol.

BioFulviK+ is not meant as a full replacement for the nutrition plan, but as a complement that improves its efficiency. By chelating micronutrients and improving soil structure, part of the applied fertilizer is used more effectively.

In super-high-density olive groves (case 2 documented on this site), BioFulviK+ also supplies bioavailable potassium and iron that enter through the same fertigation network as the conventional plan. The decision to adjust doses rests with the farm’s agronomist.

The root and uptake response is seen within weeks. Measurable improvement in yield and oil content is documented at the season scale (see cases on this site). In heavily imbalanced soils, structural-improvement effects accumulate over several seasons.

The magnitude depends on the crop, starting soil, dose and application plan.

BioFulviK+ is available in three liquid presentations:

  • 5 L: small farms, plot trials, nursery.
  • 20 L: medium-sized farms and full seasons on typical plots.
  • 1,000 L (IBC): cooperatives, large farms, distribution.
