We support plants and technical consultancies with our own laboratory,
process judgement and a validated control plan. The plant team decides
with data, not intuition. Diagnosis and plan come before any advanced tool.
Inhibitor identified. Control plan active · +3,500 hours of stable production.

REAL PLANT
What Smallops Service is
A technical operations service, not a product catalogue.
Smallops Service is the operational unit that supports biogas plants and
valorisation processes in the technical day-to-day: laboratory, process
reading, improvement plans and ongoing support.
We work in defined phases: characterisation of the current state,
a control plan validated with the plant team and, only when the case justifies it,
integration of advanced tools with a measurable protocol.
We turn technical knowledge into real operational control.
Own laboratory
BMP, substrate and feed characterisation. Reliable, reproducible analysis with process judgement.
A complete view: laboratory, process, operation, substrate and plant economics.
Actionable plan
A prioritised roadmap with actions, metrics and owners. Not theory — operation.
Ongoing support
Recurring support to consolidate control. We don't leave you on your own after the report.
The method
Five phases. One ordered technical sequence.
Each phase has a concrete deliverable and is accepted before moving to the next.
We don't sell a closed package: you hire the rung of the ladder you need, and the rest
when you need it.
01
Phase 01
Diagnosis
A structured reading of the current state: process, operation, historical data, feed, prior BMP
and the gap between what the lab says and what happens in the plant. We identify what is
limiting yield and stability before proposing anything.
Deliverables
Operational diagnosis report
Lab–plant deviation map
Prioritised list of hypotheses
Technical debrief meeting
02
Phase 02
Technical reading
We characterise the real substrate in our laboratory: BMP, VFA, total and volatile solids,
inhibitors, phytotoxins. We cross what the lab says with the feed the digester actually
follows to understand why it deviates.
Deliverables
Full BMP and characterisation
Inhibitor and phytotoxin analysis
Feed vs. real capacity diagnosis
Continuous sampling recommendations
03
Phase 03
Control plan
An operational roadmap with prioritised actions, decision criteria, monitoring metrics
and owners. Designed to be executed with the plant team, not to sit in a PDF.
Deliverables
Prioritised operational control plan
Monitoring protocols and thresholds
Technical dashboard
Training session with the team
04
Phase 04
Advanced tool
Only if the control plan leaves a residual technical problem that a tool can solve better
than an operational adjustment. We integrate OPS or other proprietary technologies under
protocol, with measurable dosing and monitoring.
Deliverables
Justified technical case study
Dosing protocol
OPS supply from our own plant
Agreed success indicators
05
Phase 05
Ongoing support
Recurring support to consolidate control and avoid slipping back into reactivity. Periodic
reviews, fine-tuning, trend analysis and technical availability for the critical moments
of operation.
Deliverables
Periodic technical reviews
Priority support for incidents
Quarterly trend reports
Plan adjustments as it evolves
Laboratory & facilities
The laboratory that speaks the plant's language.
Standard BMPPhysico-chemical analysisFull characterisation
Our laboratory is in Valdetorres (Badajoz) and works towards a single
goal: making laboratory data directly actionable in the plant.
No tables that get read and forgotten.
BMP & biomethanation
Determination of biochemical methane potential. Individual substrates and real co-digestion.
Physico-chemical characterisation
Total and volatile solids, VFA, alkalinity, nitrogen, COD. What a digester needs to decide.
Inhibitors & phytotoxins
Detection of polyphenols and other compounds that limit methanogenic activity. Critical in alperujo and mixed substrates.
Operational monitoring
Sampling and continuous-analysis protocols so the plant has a real reading, not scattered snapshots.
Three profiles. One shared need for technical control.
If you manage or advise an anaerobic process where decisions are made with incomplete
data, this service is built for you.
Plant manager
You operate one or several biogas plants and need real stability, not patches.
You want to reduce variability and improve biomethane quality without constant reactivity.
OperationStabilityYield
Technical advisor
You support several plants and need a reliable second technical reading, quality BMP
and independent judgement to validate hypotheses and reinforce your recommendations.
LaboratoryDiagnosisJudgement
Engineering / EPC
You design, build or retrofit plants. You need reliable process data, defensible BMP
and technical support that understands the real plant, not just theoretical sizing.

First contact
Three steps to start working together.
Before talking about proposals, it's worth knowing whether we're a technical fit. That's why
the first step is always a light, free diagnosis.
01
Self-assessment
7 questions about your plant. In 3 minutes you get a first reading of your level
of operational control and where there's room to improve.
Every technical decision rests on data, not intuition.
We bring process judgement to define which tool,
under what conditions and with what success metrics.
Let's connect
Let's talk about the state of your operation.
Tell us briefly about your case. If it fits what we do, we'll get back to you within
24 working hours with a first technical reading.
